OpenAI Codex has made subagents and custom agents generally available, following a preview period. These new features are reportedly similar to the implementation found in Claude Code, offering default subagents such as „explorer,“ „worker,“ and „default.“ This enhancement provides developers with more flexibility in agent design within Codex.
